Ink Apes — Personal-Use License (JPG Designs)

Plain-English summary (not a substitute for the full terms)

  • You can download the JPG, print it, and take it to your tattoo artist to tattoo you.

  • You can post photos of your tattoo or your printed copy on social media.

  • You can’t use the file for anything you sell, client work, logos/branding, merch, print-on-demand, NFTs, stock/clip-art libraries, or AI training.

  • Don’t re-share, re-sell, or distribute the files.

  • License is personal, non-transferable, worldwide, perpetual (unless you breach these terms).

1) Definitions

  • “Design(s)”: the digital artwork file(s) you purchase from Ink Apes, delivered as JPG download(s).

  • “Personal Use”: use that has no direct or indirect commercial advantage (no sales, fees, client projects, or brand promotion).

  • “You” / “Licensee”: the individual purchaser (or a gift recipient registered with Ink Apes before downloading).

2) License grant

Ink Apes grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, worldwide, perpetual license to use the Design(s) for Personal Use only, subject to these terms.

3) Permitted uses

You may:

  1. Download and store the Design(s) on your personal devices; keep one backup.

  2. Print the Design(s) for your own reference or home display.

  3. Tattoo application: share the Design(s) with a professional tattoo artist solely to tattoo you. The artist may keep a temporary working copy for that session and must delete it afterward.

  4. Personal posts: share photos/videos of your tattoo or your printed copy on social media/blogs (posting the full, unaltered source JPG is not allowed).

  5. Personal edits: make reasonable edits (resize, crop, rotate, light retouching, small additions like dates/names) only to fit your own tattoo or personal print.

4) Prohibited uses

You may not:

  • Use the Design(s) commercially in any way (including but not limited to): selling prints, merch, apparel, stickers, posters; monetized videos; client work; commissions; or any use that promotes a business/brand.

  • Use the Design(s) as or within a logo, brand identity, or trademark.

  • Re-sell, share, gift, transfer, upload, or distribute the file(s) to others, including friends, forums, marketplaces, stock/clip-art sites, or “free download” sites.

  • Use the Design(s) with print-on-demand or dropshipping services.

  • Mint as NFTs, or submit to generative/AI training datasets or image libraries.

  • Claim authorship of the Design(s) or register them with any content ID, fingerprinting, or rights-management system.

  • Create derivative works for sale or for distribution to others.

5) Ownership

All Design(s) are owned by Ink Apes (and/or its licensors). You are purchasing a license to use, not ownership of the copyright or any IP rights.

6) Transfers & gifting

This license is personal to you and cannot be transferred. If purchasing as a gift, contact support@inkapes.com before download to register the recipient; once a file is downloaded, the license is locked to that individual.

7) Refunds & Australian Consumer Law

Digital downloads are generally non-refundable. Nothing in this license limits rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). If a file is defective/unusable, contact support for a remedy consistent with the ACL.

8) Term & termination

This license remains in effect until terminated. Ink Apes may terminate it if you breach these terms. On termination you must stop using the Design(s) and delete all copies (including backups). Sections on ownership, prohibited uses, limitations, and governing law survive termination.

9) Limitation of liability

The Design(s) are provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ink Apes is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Design(s). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions; your rights under the ACL remain.

10) Attribution

Attribution is not required for Personal Use social posts, but is appreciated (e.g., “Design by @inkapes”).

11) Commercial use option

If you need to use a Design commercially (merch, client work, logo/branding, marketing, etc.), contact support@inkapes.com for a Commercial License.

12) Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and applicable Australian law. Venue and jurisdiction lie with the courts of New South Wales.
